Yellow Finch Nesting 1 – Heritage Series Cottonwood and Copper Wall Art

This one-of-a-kind mixed media art piece pairs found cottonwood bark with hand-formed copper finches and nest, each hand-enameled with bright tones of goldenrod, charcoal and creamy white.

Part of the Heritage Series, the cottonwood bark used in this piece was gathered from trees planted decades ago on Liz’s family farm. Once serving as windbreaks for the home place, the trees are now beginning to naturally break down, and the artist in Liz saw an opportunity to preserve their story in a new form.
