When I first started collage work, I designed very simplistic botanical art. As my style expanded, I found by intertwining botanicals and metal with other media captured the essence of them in a more colorful way.
I begin most of my collage pieces by painting acrylic backgrounds, tooling pure metal and/or using textured papers. Botanicals or metal pieces are the focal points on which fibers, other metals, beads, layered paints and other found objects are layered in a whimsical and sometimes soulful way to show my favorite prairie landscapes and city scenes. -- Liz Walberg, Liz W.
